Sims 3 spectrum legacy

I had one quick question. With the Generations expansion new babies sometimes get the imaginary friend toy. If your heir ends up with an imaginary friend could you make it real and have your heir marry their imaginary friend?

Or would that not be allow? I have googled this but found no clarification — I know that for the heirs everything needs to be randomised. What about the Lifetime Wants, though? Are you supposed to pick the first one that pops up in your wish panel which would mean that a LOT of my Sims would want to Adopt 6 Strays because that one keeps showing up for my kids! Do you pick it when your Sim becomes a young adult? Or do you roll dice for it?

Only traits need to be randomized. Is it okay to export some of them and place them on empty lots? I was just curious if using the traveler mod was allowable in the challenge in the context of the founder or heir traveling to another city such as starlight shores or isla paradiso to meet and bring home a mate?

As far as I know it treats it like a normal vacation. It also allows weather in all vacation destinations. In a normal game, even if you have Seasons, there is no weather in France, China, or Egypt. This mod allows weather to change in these places. Although, it can make exploring a little more difficult.

Are you allowed to use into the future expansion pack? And if you can, are you allowed to travel to te future? If you have the Pets EP the game may have placed another lot there. Just bulldoze that lot and you are all set. Does every heir have to have diff traits, clothes, etc i. The traits of your heirs and all children for that matter are determined by the random trait generator.

There are no restrictions on clothing, so feel free to use any and all custom content. I am only onto my second generation and already the town is dying and there are barely any young people for my current heir to meet. Would it be possible to simply open create a sim, do not edit the sim, randomise their traits and put them into the neigbourhood, or would that be breaking the rules?

Thank you! I think that would be acceptable. You can also use Awesomemod which among other things prevents that from happening. Purely cosmetic changes are always allowed is it does not give you an advantage over anyone else. Am I doing something wrong? Before I started this, I figured I could at least build a dirt-floor shack. Sounds right to me! You can keep track of multiple families, add notes on them, and even put a picture of them on the chart.

Is it too late to join the legacy challenge? I just got a new laptop and the Sims 3 yesterday. Yaay c: also is it against the rules if I put a self made sims in the neighborhood so my sim can meet them and stuff..? Or do I have to have my founder marry a sim already in the town? I am quite new to this so bear with me. What are the rules concerning elixers. Mind if you give me a list of restricted potions? The potion of youth cannot be drunk more than once by any individual sim.

Also, another thing. I downloaded a world and there was two large lots. Which lot should I do a legacy challenge on? You can do the 50 x 50 lot if it costs more money. Just a quick question. There is the ability to move between towns without have to change save files.

Like moving from Sunset Valley to Bridgeport type of thing. Is that allowed, even though the player can make the legacy go into a large lot? Or is it restricted to only the same town? The Legacy Family lot has to stay the same for the whole challenge. That said, you can pick either of the two towns as both have a valid lot to start on.

You are, however, more than allowed to visit either town, regardless of which one you moved into. If you have the Pets Expansion pack, do you have any other suggestions other than the Sunset Valley home to move in to? We have all current expansion and stuff packs except for the towns and cities like Hidden Springs and town packs like that. He tends to take his main character which would be the founder if in Legacy challenge. He goes to the university and sells unneeded things in the dorms.

Is this okay in the challenge. Oh and if it changes anything I am not counting points. Is it saying that you can only have 1 child in each generation? Nope you can have as many children as you want. You can only have one heir the child that will continue the Legacy but you can have as many children as you want. The spares are the additional non-heir children that you have. You need spares in case anything happens to your heir ie they die before they can have children of their own.

If the heir dies one of the spares becomes the heir and you choose which one it is depending on your succession law. My challenge failed. Spares are equally important as heirs at least until the current heir has children of their own.

Think of it like a royal family from the medieval era. A king and a queen would have multiple children usually but only one of those children would be able to inherit the throne. Can you use lifetime happiness points for something like the Genie or inheritance or some other money lifetime happiness reward.

Hi, this is my first time doing a Sims legacy and I just have a few questions regarding the rules. Now that supernatural has come out and other long-lived life states are available can we have ghosts in our legacy?

Because I started a legacy with a ghost founder and it might mean a lot of children before I can get a suitable heir otherwise. Also can we resurrect Sims if we intentionally killed them off in order to become a ghost? I ask because of things like alien abduction and children born out of wedlock.

Are these children still valid heirs? I want to do a story with my legacy and think this would make a fun twist. The deaths would be like building a fence around a sim or drowning them, etc.

This means that if the heir is the only child then that ends the family line. If they make it to the 10th gen then the curse is broken may add another requirement here. This sounds legal to me. You are allowed to kill any Sims that you want.

If an heir dies, just make sure you have a spare handy. Hey guys I got a question. Are we allowed to have non-sims during the legacy challenge? For example, one of my generation families owns a simbot or a plumbot during that time period.

Are we allowed to have such occults during this challenge? I was kind of curious about that. It seems that there was some type of conversation over the features of Dragon Valley. I am playing my founder, and I got her knocked up before knowing the guy was rich. Can the child still be the heir if I never move the guy into the house? I assume it means a sim part of the bloodline I do not feel that anyone brought into the family by a spare is part of the bloodline, which raises another question: are they part of the bloodline?

A sim who is part of the bloodline or a spouse to a primary heir can fulfill that. Spouses to spares are too far detached to earn points, but spares themselves can still earn you points. Wow, thanks for the quick reply! Hi, My founder is dating a guy who wants to be a heartbreaker LTW. If they had a child, would he still count as a spouse, or would they have to marry for him to be considered a spouse?? Additionally, if I wanted to use him in order to complete his LTW for points, would he still be eligible for points if him and the founder broke up so he could get other girlfriends , but he was still living at the legacy house??

Thanks, Kathryn. They would count as a spouse, even without marriage. And yes they would still be eligible even if they and the founder broke up. A goal to strive for. It is not like you get any in-game benefits from them. Just a goal to achieve and track your progress with. They should not bring in any money, if they do, use the money cheat to return your funds back to their original level.

The rule Pinstar is referring to is for Sims 4. Am I being too confusing? I hope not. Thank you very much for making it clear! It would be very weird if the world only had one family on it XD. I plan to have a Mermaid family using the kelp if necessary! Would this be alright? Regarding the starting funds: does it have to be a blank lot?

Only I really want to build my Legacy on a houseboat. If I used the familyfunds cheat after buying it to start off with , would that be alright? Can my founder have that, or do I have to wait a while? Or not get it at all?

When I play the game, the most important thing for me is to choose traits. I will also have mates from another countries. In the end, the Legacy Challenge is just a suggested alternative rule set. Someone has gifted me in-game , can i sell the gift for the money or is that against the rules?

Yes, I believe that you are. Hello and thanks for the response! Yeah i sold it since nothing in the rules was against it and logically it is not considered cheating. Thanks for answering however now i have some back up for my decision too. Can I grow plants and sell them? Or fish and sell the fish? Yep you can. Yes, and I think you can find a Sims 4 modified version somewhere too, if you want more accurate rules. In short, the challenge is to play for 10 generations without using cheat codes, extending your […].

Same with the SimBots from the Inventing skill tree. It is the only empty lot by where the Landgraab family lives. Just bulldoze and Viola! Empty lot to begin your Sims 3 Legacy. Or is that against the rules? You can use any combination of expansion packs that you wish. You can even just use the base game if you want. Hi I just started the legacy and I was wondering if changing a sims traits using the Mid-life crisis lifetime reward was allowed if you randomized the new traits.

Are you able to use cheats on the PS3 version? If so you can move onto a small lot and then cheat the funds down to get the amount you need. Hi, can I also get points for lifetime wishes, which added by an expansion pack or only for lifetime wishes from the basic game?

More than two years later, I need to ask this question too! There are waaaaay more than 32 LTW if you include all expansion packs. So, does this mean that you can only ever score a max of 32 for unique LTWs, can you score as much as there are unique LTWs?

Nope, it counts. A sim does not need to be an heir or directly part of the bloodline to memorialize a sim. They have to 1: Satisfy the skill requirements based on the medium they are using to memorialize. In your case, the portrait counts just fine. There are some item I like in buy-debug for instance some from world adventures. For instance for the Chinese incense holder Are you doing a matriarchy or patriarchy? Those are the only restrictions that affect whether or not a girl can be an heiress.

Are they any rules that may contradict what the purpose is or any new rules that should be added? Glad I found this! Thank you for offering this fascinating legacy challenge for Sims 3. Okay, so adopted sims can be part of the bloodline…but can they be an heir? Or can the adopted child sim become the next heir? I will be playing The Sims 3 with various expansions.

The Legacy Challenge is all about […]. Example : Founder John marries Emy her neighbor , she moves in with him and adds in his account 3, simoleons over 5, simoleons.

Your founder and the spouse will need to have other children to become the heir. Just wanted to ask: I realized that going on vacations was the fastest way to earn easy money, in my experience at least.

This is simply from exploring tombs and finding various relics and metals. Is this too much like cheating if I sent my founder to do it? I just feel like you can get a LOT of money from going on vacations. They are inspired by both the Legacy Challenge and Alice and Kev. Here they […]. The original rules are created by Pinstar. I am not too fond of having to follow all these rules, […]. Another question: do the properties theatre, bistro, etc count to the value of the house?

Do I have 1 or 10 points? Would you be willing to make a Sims 3 legacy challenge trait generator for kids? Am i allowed to choose a lifetime want? When it forces you to choose vs just waiting for it to appear. I am really interested in starting a legacy challenge!

I just had a couple questions:? Can the founder have a job? Can the kids join after school programs such as ballet, scouting, or art? Are the spares allowed to have children of their own Thank you! Here is a updated Scoresheet. IF you have problems please let me know. Can I change my families appearence a bit? Great challenge by the way:. Hi there! I am starting this challenge and was hoping I could link my site here. Like, does each generation habe a different in game goal to reach?

Level 10 in a career for instance. What does that mean what are the points and what do they go towards? It slows the clock down so the days are longer. There is no reward for it. Just a way to add some challenge and difficulty in the game.

So I just started my legacy and got my founder married. He received a fountain of youth as a wedding gift. I know I am not supposed to drink from it. If I sell it, would that be considered cheating as well? You start out with next to nothing on your lot until you can afford to buy it with the funds that your founder earns from getting a job. Money cheats are not allowed. How do you make portraits? Also, are you allowed to use the cheats testingcheatsenabled true, moveobjects on, and fadeobjects off?

Please reply when you can because I would really like to do this challenge following all the rules. If I do this for fun, do I have to follow the rules to the letter? Like If I want the second gen founder to be male instead of female. And wanted to start off with more than simoliens,. I assume this is because I own all the expansions and each expansion has added a little more money to the starting funds? My Sim could still only afford a very bare, minimal starter house with those funds.

Yeah, my assumption is because of the expansions. I guess the difference is whether you want your founder to start off as a hobo or in a small shack. Either way, you start off poor. Can i make a sim in Cas randomise his ttrates move him into town with the normal amount of money and make him my founders mate? If you really want to have a Supernatural Legacy, then go for it! I would say no. Can the alien baby be the heir since it was the first child born under their marriage or is it illegitimate because it is not directly related to the founder?

Can spares and their children award points if they still live on the family lot? Can you go to the future and win the lottery in the present? Or is that pretty much cheating because my other sims won 1 million simdollars once. I guess maybe buy a bunch of expensive stuff to bring your funds down at the beginning? Oh perfect! Dirt Defiant Slows hygiene decay to a quarter of its usual speed. Squeaky Clean lasts 28 hours instead of 7. Objects and activities that decay hygiene still do so, however.

Oh, forgot to add, can you also make a pet to live with your founder at the start? Can there be pet legacies, or pet sections of traditional legacies, like having your pets have offspring while your sims have offspring too?

So why not attempt the legacy challenge […]. Someone already asked this, but nobody responded, so here I am: Is the Motive Mobile allowed in this challenge? With the ambitions expansion pack what is the stance on sims being self-employed through city hall as a career? I have another question hopefully I used the right email by the way, I have more than one.

In the rules it says to set the aging to a normal level. Does this mean that I can adjust the aging within that level, or does it have to be on default? So with Cats or Dogs, max the Hunting skill. Yes you can have only one heir or you can have siblings, but only one of the children can be the heir, the others are spares in case something happens to the heir. I am just summing it up for you to be […].

Obviously I am new to the Sims 3, although I kinda figured. Her family basically owns Sunset Valley. So that means she is off-limits for my Founder.

I have found 15 Summer Hill Court as an equestrian centre, I have made it residential, but now it has become a giant park where nobody can visit, I thought it was meant to be a house? Is it ok if I sell a Tofunda Wagon? Is it allowed to eventually become partners and owners of businesses to get more money?

I thought that would be a good way to get more income, and my founder loves looking for gems and space rocks, is it allowed to sell those for more money too? I have the temptation to do a Sims 3 legacy… for like, a half second. I see that Pinstar and co have a few new Sims 4 challenges up, so […]. What if you have baby glitches in your game. I know im like a lot late but when you buy the weather machines from the lifetime rewards can you sell them. Can you move in the child of one of the heirs siblings in order to get them to marry and have kids with a different sim without changing the active household?

Now, I will introduce you to the founder, and in […]. So foe my personal style and preference I prefer to keep track of time spent in those things and deduct it from the time they have for there age. For instance a 3 day vacation means they age up at 3 days left rather than. University can definitely cut short young adult span but then it does in reality too.

I prefer to consider anything that comes with expansions, stuff packs, or purchased from EA not the exchange to be fair game to use.

I choose to change my Sims life span a little. For all of my sims. For instance cut childhood to five days and add the extra two days to teen years instead. Because it still takes effort to level your skill that high, and they definitely meet the requirement of being blood related soooo..? They are related to no one as far as the game is concerned. Do you. Thanks again. I want my sim to have a dog when she starts off.

But my very first heir is looking odd, like some fish creature. The founder is gonna be too old to have another kid. So, are we allowed to use surgery? But got another question. So I went and did just that with found; went from almost adult to young adult. And now, reading some comments, it says those are against the rules in this version.

Does it mean I have to start again? Or does the player get to choose? Having a blast playing this challenge again! Cousins of the Heir. Basically changes the Spare to either completing their LTW and moving them all out, or if the cousins will stick around to contribute more points.

If you are playing a guy and an alien impregnates your sim does this count towards the legacy points and can this child be a heir. See I started this challenge and three day later got the alien visit me now my guy sim is pregnate. Thanking for creating these rules flow the Legacy Challenge!

I tried an easier one back in Sims 2, just to use no money cheats and to try and last a lot of generations. The founder of my matriarchy is Ivy de la Rosa. At first she could only afford a tiny bathroom with some crappy furniture outside it, but now she has a ton of rooms with barely any furniture, mind you , including a garage. At the moment Ivy has her husband Aiden also her boss who she asked to divorce his wife , their son Dorian, and their daughter and heir Cordelia. Fingers crossed they make it through all ten generations!

Then change it back to Residential. Or just go the easy way and move to a smaller lot. Or any heirs for that matter? I think it was around that I did this. During that time, someone had posted a spreadsheet for this challenge that had a way to easily keep track of your points for this challenge. It was quite complex. Does anyone know where I can get that spreadsheet? Whats the ruling on going to college?

Can my founder take his starting funds and go to college? What if I want to send kids…you have to switch worlds. What constitutes a mate? Could I, for instance, bring in several mates into the home and keep them, or does the mate only count if the biological child is the current heir?

Are we allowed to keep the money the mates bring when they join the household or do we have to remove them through cheats. Not sure if this has been asked over the past years. My legacy family which I have created this year I have had start off in Monte Vista.

I am making a small twist to the challenge, by moving my family and lot to a new expansion neighbourhood with generation once they hit young adult. So at the moment we are still in Monte Vista great one for farming family my twins have 3 days left til they hit young adult, and my founder is presently 86 days old. Once the twins have their birthday, I am going to activate my Ambitions expansion and move family and lot to Twinbrook kinda of fitting I think.

Guess my question is, is it okay to move Legacy family and initial lot to new towns? No, the legacy family has to remain in the town the Founder started out in, and they must all live on the lot that the Founder began at.

Can I just adjust the income so they bring no funds into the household? Would it be alright to use ask gender of baby on a pregnant sim? Or would that be against the rules too? Here is an odd one. Put a big house for my sim to rent at uni. But the thing is, there is no way to check how much the rent would cost them. So can I save, enroll, and then if I see I cannot afford it, then go back to the save to earn money at home?

Or, does it count as me having committed to enrolling and I must pick a place and stick to it? Suppose I could drop out, that would be story-friendly.

If your child heir is very close to their Special Toy growing up, and it can become a person, are they allowed to marry it and have children to continue the legacy? If a sim manages to get k lifetime aspiration points, are they worth 3 points? Sorry if it is late to ask a question on here or whatever, but I would really like an answer on this one.

I am playing the legacy challenge and I am on about gen 3. His traits randomly shift from day to day because he gets delusional and I wanted to know if there was any rules regarding that unstable trait from ITF. Since traits of your sims are supposed to be randomized, would it be okay if most if not all of his traits besides the unstable trait were swapped via that unstable trait?

Is it too late to join the Legacy Challenge party? I only just now discovered the rules. I have a few questions about the challenge. Whenever I play Sims 3, most of my income comes from buying every available profitable lot. I thought of another question. Can my sims gamble there, to try and get more money? Do you need anything special to keep track of generations, points and other accomplishments or do you just use the regular game and keep track yourself?
