Playing the Game While this mystery has 8 primary characters, it is designed to accommodate any number of additional players. All you need is: Playing area In-person - Table to sit around or large playing area where the guests can sit in a circle Virtual - Video chat room links to 3rd-party providers like Zoom included in game A group of players minimum 8 people Access to a printer or electronic device so you can distribute game materials Expanded Game For Large Groups If you have more than 8 players, there are three ways that you can accommodate everyone: Investigator Role - Using this method, eight guests play the primary characters while the remainder of the guests each play the Investigator role.
Players in this role are not suspects and do not have character backgrounds but can question the suspects and try to solve the mystery along with the other players.
Teams - Each primary character can be played by 2 or more people that work together as a team. This works well if you've invited several couples to your event, but also works if you break up your guests into eight larger teams of 3 or more guests. Multiple Groups - If you have 16 or more guests, you can break them up into groups of 8 players and run multiple instances of the game on their own.

We had silver candelabras with black candles, and a chandelier with bloody candles hung above the table. We had lentil soup for dinner, which is tomato based and super thick so it looks like blood and guts. We also served blood cocktails and red wine. The story was good for a 30 minute mystery, I hosted the "Jazz Age" s party last year which we enjoyed more, I think because there was so much more to it and much more involved.

I ordered vampire capes and masks for each person and had everything decorated in a spooky Halloween theme included candles when they came in for the meeting. We had a blast!! Theme Highlights: I decorated the salon with spider webs and all spooky decorations.

The girls really enjoyed themselves and are eager to play another mystery - and of course would like it even more when they can get together and do this in person. Super fun birthday party for adults. Everyone came dressed in their vampire costumes and were very intrigued with the game. The length of time was perfect, not too long, not too short. Players try to collect as many pairs as they can, turning the cards over one at a time and looking for matches. How to Play: Collect 5 or 10 different types of candy and write numbers on each card or Place all the candy in a pile and give each player 5 cards.
If they have it, they can give it to the player who asked for it and pick another card. Everyone has 5 minutes to go around the room and find all of the shapes that they can, counting how many they see. After 5 minutes, everyone comes back together and takes turns saying what they saw and where they found it.
How to play: Make a deck of cards from construction paper by cutting out two identical copies of each card one for the player and one to use as a spare. Give each player their own deck of cards.
