Grub-install /dev/sda1 failed

Before you post please read how to get help. I'm pretty sure it's because I've zero experience with EFI installs. I'd love to install without an EFI partition, but Mint won't let me.

Can someone help me figure out either a how to run the installer without EFI or b get the installer to install grub with EFI? I've attached my setup as a screenshot.
