It should be noted that most of the pages are identifiable as. I put a lot of time into producing these files which is why you are met with the above when.

Split the photographs out from the text only pages. Run my own software to split double pages and remove any edge marks such as punch. Run my own software to set the pages to a given size and align the text correctly. Hopefully after all that, I end up with a presentable file, though I can't guarantee there aren't. If you find missing pages, pages in the wrong order, anything else wrong. It is my hope that you find the file of use to you personally — I know that I would have liked to.

The following peculiar accessory is also required for this calibration: pF standardizer. The instructions outlined in paragraphs 6 and 7 are preparatory to the calibration process.

Personnel should become familiar with the entire bulletin before beginning the calibration. Items of equipment used in this procedure are referenced within the text by common name as listed in table 2. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with this calibration. Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure.

Additional maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI. When indications specified in paragraphs 8 through 12 are not within tolerance, perform the power supply check prior to making adjustments.

After adjustments are made, repeat paragraphs 8 through Do not perform power supply check if all other parameters are within tolerance. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.

Remove TI protective cover as required for adjustment. Position CH1 and CH2 controls as listed in 1 through 7 below:. Position A and B triggering controls as listed in 1 through 7 below:. Position TI A and B sweep controls as listed in 1 through 5 below:.

Connect TI to ac power source. If trace does not remain aligned with center horizontal graticule line, adjust R fig. Oscilloscope calibrator err display will indicate within limits specified in table 3; if not, perform b below. Oscilloscope calibrator err display will indicate within limits specified in table 4. Set oscilloscope calibrator to required parameter listed in table 5 for particular TI you are calibrating.

Perform appropriate adjustments listed in table 5 for 6 divisions of vertical display on TI. For oscilloscopes with digital multimeters attached, refer to calibration section of digital multimeter manual at this point. Welcome to ManualMachine. Can you check the voltages on the control grids? Check all internal connectors. I had something similar with my A. Turned out to be a connector to the crt got loose during shipping.

Looks close to the M I am trying to fix. Check fuse 1. Agreed, check the HV fuse on the primary side of the HV transformer. Known fail point is shorted tantalum capacitors just before the transformer. Will be either two 22uf's or one 47uf. Definitely those tants are a weak point. Thanks for all the responses! I did check the 1. Any advice to confirm heater glow appreciated! I got this! But the trace seemed to fade out or lose connection when I laid it back down…..

Now that you have a trace, you need not worry about the HV supplies or the tube etc. My guess is that you have a poor connection between the back panel mounted parts and the main board. Hook up a probe to the Calibrator output and see if you get the square wave. I am pretty sure you have a perfectly working scope other than a loose connection which is very common in this vintage machines. You can also pull the cover off, power it up and start poking at things with a non-conductive stick, see if you can find a ticklish spot.

Any particular back panel mounted parts I should be concerned with? I did quite a bit of poking around with a non-conductive stick but I was unable to produce any desirable results. I shook the scope out but unfortunately there was no change. The trace comes and goes based on the orientation of the unit.

There is a very slight CRT crackle that corresponds to the screen and trace going in and out. I poked around in the high voltage section and nothing changed. When the trace was on I did get the calibration square wave on both channels.

I can't seem to find a loose connection. Can the tube be easily discharged, connected and reconnected or would a complete tear down be necessary to accomplish this? The Channel 2 inverter switch appears to work when the trace is on the screen but the trace will then fade out and reappear in the same position.
